Missing Details from 6/10/07 Sermon

6/10/07 Sermon Update

If you listen to the podcast you’ll notice that a little after 23 minutes the sound cuts out. It’s amazing how much control a little battery can have over a worship service.

Just before the sound cuts out, I ask the question, why didn’t the Israelites retaliate against the Gibeonites for deceiving them and tricking them into making a treaty with the Gibeonites. Then silence. Well the answer is that the israelites had sworn an oath on the name of Jehovah God. Joshua was unwilling to defame God because of a sin that he had commited. If Joshua would have consulted God the treaty wouldn’t have taken place in the first place.

I would love to hear some stories from you of times when everything in you wanted to lash out and retaliate against someone but you reacted with love and grace to them. How did it work? Did they respond well to your grace. How did you feel?
